The Ramonya Column has confirmed that two military council troops were killed during a clash between revolutionary forces and the military council forces on Union Highway No. 8 in the Thanbyu Zayat-Ye section of Mon State. The battle broke out around 12:30 PM on June 13 near Kone Myint Thayar and Klain Padaw villages along the Thanbyu Zayat-Ye Union Highway. The engagement lasted approximately 30 minutes, resulting in two military council troops killed and five others wounded.
The operation was jointly conducted by the Ramanya Mon Army and the Ramonya Column, with revolutionary forces successfully withdrawing from the area without suffering any casualties. Following the clash, as per their usual pattern, the military council forces began indiscriminately firing heavy weapons into civilian residential areas. The Ramonya Column has issued warnings to local residents to remain vigilant about military movements in the area and to be particularly careful of the dangers posed by the military council’s artillery strikes and potential air attacks.
Local sources indicate that revolutionary forces have been intensifying their offensive operations in this region, while the military council’s control continues to diminish gradually. The revolutionary forces have advised civilians to exercise extreme caution as the military council forces may target civilian populations in an attempt to cover up their losses. The ongoing conflict in this area represents a significant challenge to the military council’s attempts to maintain control, while revolutionary forces continue to strengthen their position in the region.
