A spokesperson from the Thaung Tha Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed that two military council soldiers were killed during an attack on junta forces stationed in Thaung Tha city, Mandalay Region. The attack occurred on May 22, beginning with revolutionary forces launching an offensive on the Mingala U Gate in Mingala U Ward and the Staff Housing Complex in Butakun Ward of Thaung Tha city during the morning hours.
Later that day, around 4 PM, revolutionary forces conducted a follow-up attack using both heavy and light weapons against military council troops stationed at an Off-Take Gas Station near Thaung Tha city. During this engagement, one soldier and one police officer from the military council forces were killed, while four additional military council troops sustained injuries. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort involving multiple resistance groups, including the Thaung Tha Township People’s Defense Force, Myingyan District Battalion 3, Meiktila Township PDF, and the Naypyidaw 801 PDF Thaung Tha Operations Group led by Battalion Commander Kay. These joint operations are aimed at controlling military council movements in the region and protecting civilian security. The successful coordination between various resistance groups demonstrates their growing capability to conduct effective operations against military council forces while maintaining their commitment to defending local communities.
