A spokesperson from the Ramanya Forces has confirmed that two military council soldiers were killed during an attack on the military’s Thatkaw Gate camp located at the Mawlamyine-Ye-Three Pagodas junction in Mon State’s Thanbyuzayat Township. The attack, which occurred around 1 PM on April 29, lasted approximately 10 minutes, during which the military council forces responded with heavy weapons including 120mm and 40mm artillery as well as small arms fire. The clash resulted in two military council casualties and five others seriously wounded.
A representative from the Ramanya Forces explained that this operation was part of their planned military activities, similar to offensive operations being carried out by revolutionary forces in other regions, aimed at intensifying military pressure in the Mon region. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the engagement without suffering any casualties. Military analysts note that this attack demonstrates the increasing strength of revolutionary forces’ military operations within Mon State. The Thatkaw Gate camp, situated at the strategic Mawlamyine-Ye-Three Pagodas junction, serves as a key military installation for the council forces in the region.
This attack represents a direct challenge to the military council’s control in the area and demonstrates the growing military capabilities of revolutionary forces, according to military observers. The assault has been welcomed by local residents who support the revolutionary movements’ efforts. The successful operation highlights the continuing resistance against the military council’s presence in Mon State and reflects the broader pattern of increasing military pressure being applied by various revolutionary forces across Myanmar. The precision of the attack and the ability to withdraw without casualties demonstrates the growing tactical capabilities of the resistance forces in the region.
