An attack in Ywarhtaw village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region, resulted in the death of two military council soldiers. The incident occurred around 2 PM on March 29 when the People’s Defence Organization – Natmauk (PDO-Natmauk) and allied forces attacked a military vehicle carrying ten soldiers with small arms along the Natmauk-Pyawbwe road as it was leaving Ywarhtaw village.
During the attack, two military council soldiers were killed and others were injured, according to a spokesperson from the PDO-Natmauk. The resistance forces were able to successfully withdraw from the area without any casualties. Although the military council forces returned fire, they did not arrest any local civilians in the aftermath of the attack.
However, military council forces later burned down a hut near the attack site in the evening, as confirmed by the PDO-Natmauk spokesperson. These types of attacks are being carried out to control military council troop movements in the region and to resist the oppression of civilians. The incident demonstrates the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and the military council in the area, as local defense forces continue their efforts to protect civilians from military council operations.
