
The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) has announced that two military council soldiers stationed in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, have defected to the people’s side with their weapons and ammunition. The two soldiers, who were serving in the military council’s Infantry Battalion 703, made the decision to join the people’s side on May 2nd, bringing their weapons and ammunition with them when they contacted the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay).
The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) warmly welcomed the two defecting soldiers and awarded them with monetary rewards for their courageous decision. The announcement stated that the defectors would be provided with complete security guarantees and protection for their lives. The PDF also emphasized that they have measures in place to ensure the safety and well-being of those who choose to defect from the military council.
According to the statement released by the People’s Defense Force, they continue to extend an open invitation to all current military personnel, police force members, and militia members who wish to leave the terrorist military council and join the people’s side.
