The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) has announced that two military council soldiers stationed in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, have defected to the people’s side with their weapons and ammunition. The two soldiers, who were serving in the military council’s Infantry Battalion 703, made the decision to join the people’s side on May 2nd, bringing their weapons and ammunition with them when they contacted the People’s Defense Force (Mandalay).
The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) warmly welcomed the two defecting soldiers and awarded them with monetary rewards for their courageous decision. The announcement stated that the defectors would be provided with complete security guarantees and protection for their lives.
