Two members of the military council’s Pyu Saw Htee militia were killed when revolutionary forces attacked them as they ventured out for farming activities from their camp near Ngwe Dwin village in Ayartaw Township, Sagaing Region. According to a representative from the Ngwe Dwin Revolution Force, the incident occurred on June 19 when revolutionary forces launched a coordinated attack on the Pyu Saw Htee members who had left their camp to perform agricultural work. The attack was carried out after resistance forces had been monitoring military council movements in the Ngwe Dwin area.
During the engagement, Pyu Saw Htee member Phyo Oo from the Ngwe Dwin village camp was killed instantly in the firefight, while another member, Tin Cho, sustained severe facial injuries from gunshot wounds and later died from blood loss. Following the clash, remaining military council forces conducted a clearance operation at the battle site and retrieved the bodies of the two deceased Pyu Saw Htee members, returning them to their camp. The revolutionary forces successfully seized several items from the Pyu Saw Htee members during the operation, including one single-shot rifle, one shoulder bag, a crossbow, a mobile phone, a sword, and two cattle.
The successful operation was carried out through coordination between Battalion 21 from Monywa District, combat zones 9, 10, and 11, and local allied forces. This victory demonstrates the effective collaboration between local residents and revolutionary forces in responding to military council activities in the region. The resistance forces noted that this successful engagement represents their continued ability to effectively counter military council operations in the area through coordinated efforts with local revolutionary groups and demonstrates the growing strength of the resistance movement in Sagaing Region.
