
A representative from the United States of Burma Army (USBA) has confirmed that clashes occurred between revolutionary forces and the military council troops for two consecutive days along the Salay-Minbu road connecting Salay and Minbu townships in Magway Region. During the encounters, military council casualties were reported, with both dead bodies and injured soldiers being transported to Salay Public Hospital.
The first clash erupted on the evening of July 5th near Tagyeegauk village in Salay Township. Revolutionary forces engaged with military council troops from Bawgyi Police Station who were conducting patrol operations. The firefight lasted approximately 30 minutes, resulting in multiple casualties among military council forces, while surviving soldiers reportedly fled the scene. Revolutionary forces confirmed significant losses on the military council’s side during this engagement.
The second clash occurred the following morning on July 6th near Latkhatpin village in Minbu Township. Revolutionary forces encountered military council troops from Linkar Police Station who were conducting patrol operations. This engagement lasted approximately 10 minutes and also resulted in military council casualties. In both encounters, revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties or injuries.
Revolutionary forces have issued warnings to local civilians regarding the military council’s use of civilian vehicles for their operations, urging residents to follow travel advisories for their safety. Additionally, as fighting may intensify along the Salay-Minbu road, revolutionary forces have advised local residents to remain vigilant and exercise caution in their daily movements. The USBA continues to monitor the situation and investigate the exact number of military council casualties from both encounters while maintaining their commitment to protecting civilian safety in the area.
