The Three Northern Alliance Groups have announced they will officially begin collecting taxes at Muse 105 Mile in northern Shan State. Starting July 1, the Customs Department of the Three Northern Alliance Groups will manage import-export duty rates at the Kyein San Kyaw Gate at Muse 105 Mile, with the Kyein Ta Cargo Transportation Department overseeing these operations.
As more China-Myanmar border gates open and cargo traffic increases, the online trade tax submission system and vehicle registration system will be upgraded. Border traders, duty-paying companies, and cargo terminals must complete company registration and vehicle registration at the Kyein Ta Cargo Transportation Department under the Customs Department of the Three Northern Alliance Groups before July 1 to facilitate tax payments.
The Customs Department of the Three Northern Alliance Groups will handle personal advance tax account opening, advance vehicle entry-exit registration, and card issuance. After July 1, tax submissions must be made through the online system. To avoid delays in business tax payments, all necessary documentation should be prepared as soon as possible. According to border traders in Muse, this arrangement suggests that the Three Northern Alliance Groups have been granted control of the Kyein San Kyaw Gate by China and the military council, though the military council will likely maintain their own gates and collect taxes separately. The Muse 105 Mile Trade Zone is currently under Northern Alliance control. This development comes as the military council attempts to restart China-Myanmar border trade following their recapture of Lashio through Chinese mediation.
