In Uttara Thiri Township, Naypyidaw, the People’s Liberation Army (OPRF-PLA) conducted a security operation that resulted in the capture of Major Phyo Min Kyaw from Defense Equipment Factory (DEF-13), Corporal Aung Zaw Naing, and Police Lance Corporal Htun Pyae Sone, along with over 200 million kyats. However, all three were later killed during a military counterattack, according to sources from the resistance forces.
The incident occurred on April 19 in Uttara Thiri Township, Naypyidaw region, where OPRF-PLA forces conducted a three-hour-long checkpoint operation. During this operation, they successfully apprehended the military officers along with military equipment and financial resources. The captured individuals were identified as Major Phyo Min Kyaw from Defense Equipment Factory No. 13, Corporal Aung Zaw Naing from the 910th Combat Engineering Battalion, Unit 3, and Police Lance Corporal Htun Pyae Sone.
The operation was based on precise intelligence from internal military informants. After capturing the prisoners, the resistance forces encountered military council troops during their withdrawal, resulting in an engagement that led to the deaths of all three captured military personnel. However, the resistance forces successfully secured military equipment and financial resources worth over 200 million kyats from the operation. The OPRF-PLA confirmed these details through their official channels.
The operation took place approximately 25 miles from Naypyidaw, where the prisoners were captured along with their vehicle, as stated by an OPRF-PLA official. The resistance forces reported that the operation was successfully completed without any casualties among their members. This operation demonstrates the continuing resistance activities against the military council, even in areas close to their administrative capital, and highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-based operations by revolutionary forces in their struggle against the military regime.
