A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force – Natmauk has confirmed that three members of the military council forces were killed during clashes in Natmauk Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred on June 30th when revolutionary forces launched an attack against military council troops who were conducting operations in the eastern part of Natmauk Township. The resistance forces employed both mines and 40mm artillery in their assault, which took place between Wanbaeinn and Kularshin villages.
During the engagement, three military council soldiers were killed and many others were wounded, while the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw successfully without suffering any casualties. The military council had deployed their forces in three separate columns, totaling more than 100 troops. According to the PDF spokesperson, the military council forces had been forcing local villagers to act as guides as they moved from village to village, subjecting them to physical abuse and mistreatment. The military council troops have been conducting aggressive operations in the area, continuing their pattern of violence and oppression against local civilians.
The operation was jointly carried out by the People’s Defense Force – Natmauk Battalion 902 and the Black Tiger Battalion. The resistance forces have stated their commitment to continuing defensive operations to protect civilians from the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence and intimidation in the region. The military council’s forces have been intensifying their operations in the area, leading to increased confrontations with local resistance groups who are determined to defend their communities. The pattern of forcing civilians to serve as guides and subjecting them to abuse has been a recurring tactic of the military council forces, highlighting the ongoing human rights violations being perpetrated against the local population.
