The incident occurred around 7:00 AM on September 8, when revolutionary forces ambushed a military column of approximately 80 soldiers that was moving from Thilin town toward Thanpinkone village. Following the engagement, the military council forces retreated back to Thilin town.
According to the YDF official, the revolutionary forces suffered no casualties during the operation, though they were unable to seize any weapons or ammunition. Similarly, in Tanintharyi Region, revolutionary forces conducted a mine attack against a military council supply convoy. The attack took place near Hamphoe village bridge at approximately 11:15 AM on September 9, when resistance forces targeted a convoy of four military vehicles traveling from Myeik to Tanintharyi with twelve mines.
Following the attack, soldiers from the vehicles opened fire along the road with small arms, leading to a 13-minute exchange of fire between more than 100 military patrol troops and revolutionary forces. The operation was jointly carried out by the Myeik PDF, Tanintharyi Yoma Zone 3, Myeik District PDF, and the Bo Karing Force. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely without suffering any casualties. The exact number of casualties on the military council side could not be immediately confirmed.
