A representative from the Minbu District Battalion No. 5 has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed during an attack by revolutionary forces on a military column in Salin Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred around 1:20 PM on May 12, when revolutionary forces from Minbu District Battalion No. 5 launched an ambush attack on a military council column near Khinetaung village, before they could reach their position near the Salin-Kanpyar road junction. The military column, consisting of approximately 150 personnel, included military council troops, police forces, and Pyu Saw Htee members who had established a temporary base near Myaynikone village.
During the attack, three military council soldiers were killed instantly by mine explosions, and many others sustained injuries in the ensuing battle. The revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties. According to the battalion official, military council troops had been entering villages in the area, confiscating property, and killing livestock for food. The full extent of the military’s activities in the area has not yet been determined, as complete territory clearance operations have not been conducted. Local civilians have been evacuated to safe locations to avoid potential harm from the ongoing conflict.
The battalion representative warned that additional military council forces may enter the area, and urged civilians to remain vigilant against both ground and air threats. Local residents have been advised to cooperate with revolutionary forces while maintaining awareness of their surroundings. The people in the region are taking necessary precautions to protect themselves from military council forces while continuing to support the revolutionary movement. The situation remains tense as revolutionary forces maintain their resistance against the military council’s operations in the area, with local communities prioritizing safety measures while supporting the broader resistance effort.
