A spokesperson from the Bo Karing Force has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed during an attack by revolutionary forces on military council troops stationed in Ramphoe village, Tanintharyi Township, Tanintharyi Region. The battle, which occurred at 12:30 PM on June 18, lasted approximately 30 minutes, with revolutionary forces successfully withdrawing without any casualties. The operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region and their ability to conduct coordinated attacks against military council positions.
The attack was carried out through a joint operation involving the Bo Karing Force, Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 11, and the Myeik People’s Defense Force. Ramphoe village has been identified as a strategic location where military council forces have maintained a significant presence and have been reportedly oppressing local civilians. The revolutionary forces had designated this position as a military target due to its strategic importance and the military council’s continued persecution of local residents in the area.
During the engagement, revolutionary forces executed their operation according to plan, effectively responding to the military council troops’ resistance. While three military council soldiers were confirmed killed in the attack, there were also reports of additional injuries among military council forces, though exact numbers could not be independently verified. The revolutionary forces conducted a strategic withdrawal following the successful completion of their mission, maintaining their tactical advantage while avoiding any casualties to their own forces. This operation represents another example of the increasing effectiveness of coordinated resistance activities against military council positions in the Tanintharyi Region.
