
A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force Thandaung has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed during attacks on military camps and columns in Thandaunggyi Township, Karen State. The attacks targeted the 13-Mile military camp, Kyaukhlonegyi camp, and military columns. The series of attacks occurred between April and May, effectively disrupting military council operations in the area.
The attacks began on April 13 when PDF forces engaged a military column along the Thandaung-Leiktho-Taungoo road, resulting in four military council soldiers being wounded. On May 6, the 13-Mile camp was attacked with 60mm weapons, causing injuries to three military council soldiers. Another attack on May 11 targeted the Kyaukhlonegyi military camp with 40mm weapons, resulting in one soldier’s death and injuries to two others.
Further operations included a sniper attack on May 12 against military council troops conducting road security operations from Kyaukhlonegyi camp, which resulted in one soldier’s death and another being wounded. On May 28, another attack on the Kyaukhlonegyi military camp resulted in one soldier’s death and injuries to two others. The PDF spokesperson confirmed that all operations were successful with no casualties among resistance forces. The attacks were carried out by PDF Thandaung forces under Military Region 2, Battalion 5, and all operations achieved their objectives while ensuring the safety of resistance fighters.
