
A spokesperson from the Pyay District People’s Defense Force has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed and eleven others were seriously injured when resistance forces attacked two vehicles carrying military council troops departing from Thayetkone town in Bago Region. The incident occurred around 10:15 AM on June 11, when revolutionary forces targeted two vehicles carrying approximately 50 military council troops near the irrigation canal sluice gate close to Yonepintet village. The vehicles were departing from Thayetkone town when they were attacked.
According to detailed reports of the operation, resistance forces had positioned themselves at a strategic location near the rear corner of the area with three mines, waiting for the military vehicles to enter the targeted zone before detonating the explosives. The attack resulted in the immediate death of three military council soldiers, while eight others sustained severe injuries. The operation was carried out through coordination between the People’s Defense Forces from Thayetkone Township and Paungde Township, as confirmed by officials from the resistance forces.
