A spokesperson from the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed and two others were wounded in an attack on a military outpost near the Kwamkwaik base in Ye Township, Mon State. The attack took place at approximately 9:30 AM on July 11th, targeting a sentry post near Mot Kanin village in northern Ye Township. The engagement lasted about 30 minutes, with revolutionary forces successfully withdrawing without any casualties.
According to reports, the Kwamkwaik military base houses approximately 30 military council troops, with about 15 soldiers stationed at the attacked outpost. The operation was described as a coordinated guerrilla attack conducted under the Defense Department of the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC). The attacking force consisted of a coalition of revolutionary groups, including the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF), and Unit 1 of KNLA Battalion 27. The joint operation demonstrated the growing coordination among resistance forces in the region.
Local sources indicate that the Kwamkwaik area has long been under military council control, with frequent reports of oppression and violence against civilian populations. The revolutionary forces state that their operations aim to protect the security and rights of local residents from military council aggression. Following the battle, military council forces reportedly conducted artillery strikes on nearby villages, though no civilian casualties were reported. The successful operation represents a significant blow to military council control in the area and demonstrates the increasing effectiveness of coordinated resistance operations in Mon State.
