The spokesperson Phoenix from the People’s Defense Force-Chauk-Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Battalion has confirmed that three military council soldiers were killed during two consecutive days of attacks on military forces attempting to repair power lines supplying electricity to Defense Products Factory 21 (DPF-21) in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region. The resistance forces conducted three separate attacks: one at 5 PM and another at 10:15 PM on June 26, followed by a third attack at 9 AM on June 28.
The coordinated attacks were carried out by a coalition of resistance forces including the Chauk Thakin Phoe Hla Gyi Battalion, Pakokku District Battalion 4, and Salin Township PDF Zone 3. The resistance forces successfully executed the operations without sustaining any casualties and were able to withdraw safely. The military council deployed approximately 150 troops during these operations. According to resistance sources, seven military council soldiers were wounded during the attacks – two from mine explosions and five from heavy weapons fire. Among the wounded, three were reported to have sustained severe injuries. Following the series of attacks, the military council forces retreated to DPF-21 inside the Seikphyu football ground on June 29.
Despite the presence of defense products factories and military bases in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, the frequent attacks by resistance forces have significantly restricted the movement of military council troops. Sources from the resistance movement report that military council forces are now largely confined to their bases, unable to operate freely outside their compounds due to ongoing resistance activities. The resistance forces have stated their commitment to continuing ground operations and have appealed to the public for necessary support and assistance in their efforts against the military council.
