
A clash occurred in Aunglan Township, Magway Region, on March 13, resulting in the death of three military council soldiers. The incident took place when approximately twenty-five soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 15, based in Aunglan, were conducting a patrol operation around Sambula village and its surrounding areas. The revolutionary forces launched an attack at around 8:40 PM at the junction of Phongyoe-Ingyi-Kywekaung village roads within the Sambula sub-township area.
The joint revolutionary forces involved in the operation included Battalion 902 from Naypyidaw, Battalion 804 from Naypyidaw, Salay District Battalion 1, Southern Magway People’s Defense Force (SMPDF), and Aunglan PDF. During the approximately thirty-minute engagement, three military council soldiers were killed and seven others were wounded, according to a responsible official from Battalion 902’s Taungdwingyi unit. The revolutionary forces successfully seized military equipment from the battlefield, including two 5.56 ammunition rounds, one MA-2 ammunition box, and one military helmet.
The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties when reinforcements from LIB-15 arrived at the scene. This engagement represents part of the ongoing revolutionary movement to protect local civilians from the military council’s threats and oppression. The successful operation demonstrated the continued effectiveness of coordinated resistance efforts against the military council’s forces in the region. The clash highlighted the growing capabilities of revolutionary forces in conducting defensive operations while maintaining their commitment to protecting civilian populations from military council aggression.
