
An attack on military council soldiers from the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Kabow village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in three casualties and the seizure of weapons. The incident occurred on April 29 at approximately 6:10 AM when four military council soldiers on two motorcycles were traveling from the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Kabow village. The soldiers were heading north of Gwekone village to collect extortion money from civilian travelers when they were ambushed by revolutionary alliance forces led by Ko Ngay Lay, the administrator of the People’s Administration Office of Thankone Township.
During the attack, three military council soldiers were killed instantly, and a significant cache of weapons and equipment was seized. The captured items included one G-3 rifle, one carbine rifle, one motorcycle, one mobile phone, one communication radio, three G-3 magazines, one carbine magazine, thirty-eight rounds of ammunition, one crossbow, and other materials. Following the successful operation, the revolutionary alliance forces were able to withdraw from the area without sustaining any casualties or injuries.
This incident reflects the ongoing situation where military council soldiers regularly engage in extortion and intimidation of local civilians. Local residents face daily oppression from military council forces, while revolutionary groups work to protect the civilian population. According to Ko Ngay Lay, the administrator of the People’s Administration Office of Thankone Township, such attacks are carried out in response to the military council’s unjust oppression of civilians. The incident highlights the continuing resistance against the military council’s systematic exploitation of local communities and the efforts of revolutionary forces to defend civilian interests in the region.
