
In Salin Township, Magway Region, resistance forces engaged with military council troops who entered the area with four tanks, resulting in three military council soldiers being killed and two being captured alive. The military council forces began their offensive on June 14, entering towards Kanpyar village along the Pathein-Monywa road with four tanks and approximately 200 troops. Local resistance forces immediately launched interceptive attacks against the advancing military column.
The military council’s column struck five landmines planted by the Peacock Brother Urban Guerrilla group and Minbu District Battalion 5, resulting in the immediate death of three soldiers including a corporal, while eight others were wounded. Resistance forces continued their interception attacks on June 14 and 15, forcing the tanks to retreat towards Kanpyar village as they could no longer advance. The infantry column also suffered multiple mine strikes along the Pathein-Monywa road section, causing significant casualties.
On June 16, when the military council forces attempted to advance through forest routes towards Khinpalyu village, resistance forces blocked and attacked them, forcing another retreat. On June 17, as the military council forces entered Peitsin village, a 30-minute battle ensued with resistance forces. Following this engagement, the military council troops burned down houses in Peitsin village before withdrawing. During the five days of fighting, three military council soldiers were killed, many were wounded, and two were captured alive by resistance forces. The coordinated attacks were carried out by an alliance of resistance groups including the Peacock Brother Urban Guerrilla group, Minbu District Battalion 5, Battalion 5 Drone Unit, Salin Township PDF, Minbu District Battalion 1, Minbu District PDF, Daung Sit Aung LPDF, SLN LPDF, Burma Army, and Pauktaung Medical Unit.
