A military airstrike by the Myanmar military council forces on Man Lae village in Nyaung Hla Gyi Township, Mandalay Region, has resulted in the death of three family members who were having their meal when the attack occurred, according to a representative from the Nyaung Hla Gyi Township People’s Defense Force. The incident took place on March 25 at approximately 1:30 PM when military fighter jets dropped two bombs on the village and launched rocket attacks.
The airstrike targeted a family of toddy palm workers who were living in the forest area. The victims were having their meal inside their home when the bombs struck, killing all three family members, including a young daughter. The aerial bombardment also resulted in the destruction of approximately three houses in the village, which were completely burned down in the attack. The family was described as civilian toddy palm workers who were peacefully residing in the forest area, making their living from palm-related work.
This incident represents a deliberate attack by military forces on civilian populations in an area with no active military conflict. The victims were ordinary civilians engaged in traditional livelihood activities, living peacefully in the forest area. Local sources report that these brutal military airstrikes continue to claim innocent civilian lives and destroy properties, devastating local communities. The attack has highlighted the ongoing pattern of military violence against civilians, particularly in rural areas where families are trying to maintain their traditional way of life despite the ongoing conflict.
