
Resistance forces have confirmed that continuous fighting occurred in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, from July 21 to 23. On July 21 at around 9 AM, the Dawei National Liberation Army (DNLA) and Yebyu People’s Defense Force (YPPDF) intercepted and attacked a military council column consisting of approximately 100 troops traveling with three stone-carrying trucks from Zaha village towards the Phayar Mae military checkpoint in Dawei Township.
The following day, on July 22 at 8:30 AM, a joint force comprising the Dawei National Liberation Army, Yebyu People’s Defense Force, Kyar Thit Nake Force, Bee Loon Guerrilla Force, and Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force launched an attack on one armored vehicle and three civilian vehicles traveling from Zeekyaw village to Nyinhtway village. On July 23 around 11:30 AM, resistance forces engaged with a military column of approximately 70 troops moving from Kyaukseikkone village towards Maung Mae Shaung village along the Shin Dhat Wei Pagoda road, along with reinforcements consisting of two armored vehicles and about 100 troops. The firefight lasted approximately six hours.
The operations involved coordinated efforts from multiple resistance groups including the Dawei National Liberation Army, Yebyu People’s Defense Force, Kyar Thit Nake Force, Bee Loon Guerrilla Force, Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force, Eden Myu Guerrilla Force, Dawna Battalion, and Strike Force 7. Currently, the military council forces have reportedly reached Nyinhtway village, while resistance forces report no casualties on their side. As military operations intensify nationwide, local civilians have been warned to remain vigilant against potential airstrikes and maintain necessary defensive measures. The resistance forces continue to call on military council soldiers and police force members to defect and join the people’s side as soon as possible.
