The incident occurred around 5 PM on March 8th when the military council forces carried out aerial bombardment near Kwin Gyi village without any ongoing battles or enemy targets in the area. While the bombs landed outside the village, preventing civilian casualties, one buffalo was blown away by the blast and found dead hanging in a tree, according to local residents.
According to a local resident, one bomb fell near the intersection by the Kokko tree at the entrance of Kwin Gyi village, causing a fuel shop to catch fire and killing three buffaloes. Another bomb landed in the farmland near an agricultural center between Kwin Gyi village and Pauk Kone village, creating large craters where the bombs impacted. The local resident noted that they were fortunate the bombs did not fall within the villages themselves. The military council’s indiscriminate bombing has caused large craters in the impacted areas, demonstrating the devastating power of the weapons used.
The majority of residents from Kwin Gyi village and surrounding areas have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s airstrikes. Kwin Gyi village, home to approximately 200 households, has seen its residents living in fear due to the military council’s unprovoked aerial attacks. Local residents report that the military council deliberately targets areas even without active conflict, causing destruction to civilian lives and property. The military council’s actions continue to demonstrate a pattern of violence against civilian populations, forcing many to abandon their homes and livelihoods in search of safety.
