According to local residents, the fighting is taking place very close to the township, and people are extremely frightened due to the military’s artillery bombardment. The situation has created widespread panic among the civilian population, with thousands evacuating from both the town proper and surrounding villages. The military’s indiscriminate use of heavy weapons has put civilian lives and property at serious risk.
