MAGWAY DIVISION – Minbu district battalion 6 issued a statement on November 30 saying that at around 10:30 a.m. on November 27, the revolutionary alliance forces intercepted a junta council column consisting of around 60 junta council troops near Thone Mile (three mile) gate which is entrance to Shwesettaw pagoda, on Pathein-Monywa road, in Minbu township.
Due to the interception, around ten junta council troops were said to have been killed. Even though the fascist junta council reinforced excessively using heavy weapons, there was no any casualties on the side of the revolutionary alliance forces.
It was stated in the statement that the revolutionary forces attacked the fascist junta council troops as they (the junta council troops) were preparing for the military operations by taking cover the civilians in Shwesettaw pagoda, a sacred place for Buddhism and they also pillaged money and valuable things from the civilians who were traveling in Minbu township.
The revolutionary forces appealed to the public to stay away from the junta council’s military compounds and the police stations as the battles might break out in Minbu township.
It was known that the stated attack was jointly carried out by Minbu district battalion 6, Minbu district battalion 8 and Minbu district People’s Defense Organization – Drone Force.
