
MYANMAR – According to the junta council’s press release and investigations, the terrorist military council is conducting basic and advanced military training courses in universities and giving military training to more than 1,500 students and teachers.
The army has been conducting military training for teachers and students in the universities all over the country since yesterday. Over 1500 teachers and students are being conducted for military training in 8 University Training Corps. The basic and advanced military training for 2024-2025 academic year is conducted in Nay Pyi Taw council area, in Taunggyi for southern Shan State, in Mawlamyine for Mon State, in Kamayut township for Yangon Region, in Pathein for Irrawaddy division and in Taungoo for Bago division.
“They won’t have to go to war. They just go back to their own school after military training. But they are designated as reserve forces. Anyone who wants to join the military can join the military on their own wish. Now, there is no mandatory requirement for those taking this course to serve in the military. It’s a kind of military training,” explained a lecturer at Dagon University.
The Junta Council has announced that the courses that are now open are the first year basic military training course, Second year basic military training course, the first year advanced military training course and the second-year advanced military training course will be conducted according to normal training time and camp training time.
A second-year university student majoring in mathematics from Dagon University said that the junta council pressured and organized if he attends the military training organized by the university, he will be free from being arrested as a porter or military serviceman. The teachers also pressured and threatened the students to attend mandatory military training, saying that military training attendance will be considered in grading students.
