According to Thailand-based Khaosod English, the Thai military has been forced to relocate its anti-aircraft artillery to the border region after the Myanmar military council’s air force violated Thai airspace to conduct bombing raids on Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) positions. The military council’s air force has ignored Thailand’s warnings not to conduct bombing operations near Kanchanaburi province, and today around noon, their aircraft entered Thai airspace and dropped approximately 10 bombs on KNLA military camps.
In response to these airspace violations by the military council’s air force, the Thai military has urgently deployed their international-standard anti-aircraft artillery to the border area and implemented special measures to protect Thai airspace. Analysts point out that such cross-border attacks by the military council’s air force constitute violations of international law and could escalate regional tensions. The Thai military has stated that they cannot accept any military operations within their airspace by any country and will employ their air defense systems if necessary to protect Thai airspace.
Military observers and political analysts emphasize that such actions by the military council’s air force not only represent territorial violations but also pose a dangerous risk to diplomatic relations between neighboring countries. The Thai military’s deployment of anti-aircraft systems demonstrates their serious concern about these violations and their commitment to protecting their territorial sovereignty. These aggressive actions by the military council’s air force have prompted increased security measures along the Thai-Myanmar border, with Thai forces maintaining heightened alertness to prevent further airspace violations and protect civilian populations in the border areas.
