The Ta’ang (Palaung) National Party held its six-monthly central committee plenary meeting today, July 12, in a liberated area of Ta’ang territory. During the meeting, the party issued a statement strongly condemning the military council’s planned sham election as an illegitimate attempt to seize the country’s sovereignty. The party also emphasized that the peace forum organized by the military council would not resolve Myanmar’s conflicts. A party official conveyed these decisions to the Yangon Modern News Agency.
A senior party representative revealed that the military council is currently conducting intense offensive operations across Ta’ang territory, including daily airstrikes and heavy artillery attacks deliberately targeting civilian populations. The official stressed the urgent need to construct shelters to protect civilians from aerial attacks and emphasized the importance of maintaining constant vigilance. They explained that the party stands in complete solidarity with the people, sharing in their suffering during these difficult times. The official noted that the revolution has reached its highest point, and unity is crucial for achieving victory in this challenging revolutionary journey.
The Ta’ang (Palaung) National Party has called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the military council’s inhumane war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of terrorism. They stressed that the current period represents a critical phase in the revolution, requiring unified effort and determination from all stakeholders to achieve success in the struggle for freedom.
The party has officially declared its commitment to working in unity with all people to completely eradicate the common enemy of dictatorship and establish a new federal democratic state. The statement emphasized their active participation in the Ta’ang revolutionary period government’s arrangements and their determination to continue the struggle alongside the people.
