The TGYR-Youth Guerilla Counter Revolution group has confirmed a successful attack on military council troops who were departing from Nyaung Zone town in Mandalay Region. The incident occurred on March 20 at approximately 11:53 AM when revolutionary forces intercepted three vehicles carrying military council troops who were heading towards Ma Gyi Kone village and Htun Tha village for military operations. The resistance forces had carefully planned the attack using landmines to target the military convoy.
During the attack, although only two mines detonated, one military vehicle was completely destroyed. The remaining two vehicles attempted to escape towards Ma Gyi Kone and Htun Tha villages, where they encountered additional resistance from local revolutionary forces, resulting in a second engagement. This subsequent battle also resulted in casualties among the military council troops, according to battle reports. The soldiers from the destroyed vehicle responded by firing indiscriminately to their left and right along the roadside, and their wounded were later evacuated by additional vehicles that arrived at the scene.
This operation was successfully led and executed by members of the TGYR-Guerrilla Force, who were able to withdraw safely after the engagement with no casualties among their ranks. This successful attack demonstrates the capability of revolutionary forces to protect local civilians from military council violence. The precision and effectiveness of the operation highlight the growing tactical capabilities of resistance forces in their ongoing struggle against the military council’s oppression of civilians in the region.
