A billiards tournament was held at the Gwimun Myanmar Restaurant in Daegu, South Korea, on July 5th to raise funds for the Spring Revolution. The event was organized to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and revolutionary activities in Myanmar, drawing enthusiastic participation from both local Myanmar residents and Korean citizens. The tournament served as a platform to gather support for those affected by the ongoing crisis in Myanmar.
During the ceremony, a prominent revolutionary activist monk from Daegu delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of peace, love, and unity. He outlined plans for transparent support of war-displaced civilians through educational assistance, construction of bomb shelters with thatch roofing, and nutrition programs for IDPs. The monk stressed that halting support during the revolution would amount to surrender, and therefore urged for an intensification of current aid efforts. He emphasized the critical importance of maintaining and increasing support for the revolutionary cause.
Such fundraising events not only provide crucial support for war-affected civilians inside Myanmar but also strengthen unity among Myanmar communities abroad. The participants dedicated their free time to contribute to the revolutionary cause through this tournament, and the funds raised are being organized for effective distribution to conflict-affected civilians. The event demonstrated how Myanmar communities abroad continue to find creative ways to support their fellow citizens who are suffering under the military regime, while maintaining transparency and accountability in their aid efforts.
