According to Thai-Myanmar border military sources, soldiers who surrendered and fled from Thaybawboe camp, including their strategic commander, have returned to Myawaddy via the Thai side of the border. The revolutionary forces captured the military council’s Thaybawboe camp during fighting on the evening of June 3rd. During the capture of the camp, over 50 military council troops surrendered while approximately 20 soldiers fled the area.
Those who surrendered negotiated their way to the Thai side, and around 70 personnel who had reached Thai territory were transported back to Myawaddy township through Border Guard Force (BGF) Gate 16 on the evening of June 3rd. Among them, 9 military council soldiers were hospitalized with injuries. Thai authorities confiscated all weapons and ammunition from the group, only allowing the personnel themselves to return to Myanmar. The Thai-Myanmar border sources confirmed that when these troops crossed to the Thai side, all their weapons and military equipment were seized by Thai authorities, who then only facilitated the return of the personnel to Myanmar.
Currently, there are approximately 300 soldiers who fled from Thailand now stationed at Infantry Battalion 275 in Myawaddy Township. Reports indicate that military council forces within City Guard Battalion 275 are regrouping and planning to recapture the Thangannyinaung strategic camp. On the evening of June 4th, revolutionary forces conducted drone strikes on Infantry Battalion 275, with resistance sources confirming direct hits on military council personnel. The revolutionary forces reported that two bombs were dropped on Battalion 275, likely causing casualties among the military council troops stationed there.
