A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Yinmabin Township has confirmed the capture of one lance corporal and two new recruits from the military council forces, along with three weapons, following their retreat from a battle in Chaungma village, Kani Township, Sagaing Region. The soldiers were captured during an interception operation by the Yinmabin PDF forces after they fled from the battle that took place on September 13 in Chaungma village. The operation resulted in the successful capture of these military personnel who had become separated from their unit during the conflict.
The seized materials from the captured soldiers included two MA-1 rifles, one MA-2 rifle, over 200 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, and four mobile phones. Additionally, on September 11, in the same Chaungma village, forces under the command of the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Defense had engaged with a military column of approximately 100 personnel from Infantry Battalion 16 under Military Division 33, led by Major Thurain. That earlier engagement had resulted in three military casualties, the capture of four prisoners of war, and the seizure of seven weapons.
A representative from the Yinmabin PDF provided detailed information about the battle, explaining how they successfully intercepted the scattered military council forces fleeing from the Chaungma village battle in Kani Township. The operation led to the capture of one lance corporal and two new recruits as prisoners of war, along with the seizure of three weapons. These successful military operations demonstrate the increasing tactical capabilities of the people’s revolutionary forces while also reflecting the declining morale among military council troops. The continuous victories of resistance forces in these areas highlight the growing effectiveness of coordinated operations between various people’s defense groups operating under the National Unity Government’s command structure.
