A spokesperson from the Longlone Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed the arrest of six military council supporters in Sam Hlan village, Tanintharyi Region, with one person subsequently released. On May 10 at 4 AM, authorities arrested Daw Ohn Hri, age 60, and her daughter Ma Zin Ma Soe, age 36, both fishery business operators from Sam Hlan village. During the raid, authorities seized various items including records of drug purchases, ledgers documenting extortion payments to navy vessels’ commanding officers, notebooks containing phone numbers of military council officials including battalion commanders, military council department officials, and mobile phones.
Phone investigations revealed communications between the suspects and the military council, as well as with Chit San Maung, a Pyusawthi leader from Kyauknimo village. Further searches uncovered 17 WY stimulant tablets. Additionally, U Thein Zaw (aka Wan Star) was identified as a former Pyusawthi member who had carried weapons with other Pyusawthi members from Sam Hlan village and had served as an informant during the arrests of protest participants in the early stages of the revolution.
U Aung Moe, age 58, and his son Ko Shein Thura Moe (aka Thar Mae), age 33, were also arrested for their connections with the military council. They were known to have links with military personnel at the Letkat Taung tower station, and many civilians had been arrested based on their reports. However, based on Ko Shein Thura Moe’s testimony, he was released after signing a pledge not to associate with the military council in the future, and his seized Probox vehicle was returned to him. The People’s Defense Force continues to monitor and take action against military council supporters in accordance with NUG guidelines, maintaining their commitment to protecting civilian interests while opposing military council operations.
