The Information Officer of the Dawei District Allied Forces confirmed that six military council soldiers were killed during attacks on the Latkhat Mountain Tower Station, military columns, and naval vessels in Longlone Township, Tanintharyi Region. The offensive began at 6 AM on May 30, when the Dawei District Allied Forces and revolutionary joint forces launched an attack on the Latkhat Mountain Tower Station. Throughout the assault, the military provided artillery support from Dawei city using howitzers, while naval vessels continuously fired heavy weapons in support of the operation.
During the three-day battle, three military council soldiers were killed and four were wounded, with significant damage inflicted on the Latkhat Mountain Tower Station. When military reinforcements attempted to reach the station, revolutionary forces intercepted them in Longlone town, resulting in injuries to two more military council soldiers. On June 11, as military reinforcements withdrew from Longlone town and entered Sit Pye village, the Dawei District Allied Forces and their allies launched an ambush at around 7 AM, wounding four additional military council soldiers. The fighting intensified when military forces attempted to establish positions in the area.
On June 12 at approximately 10 AM, two military vessels and one speedboat approached the east of Kanyo Island along the Dawei River. The military forces opened fire on the village using heavy weapons, Point 5 machine guns, and 20mm automatic weapons. When military personnel attempted to steal civilian boats docked at the shore using a speedboat, resistance fighters spotted them and launched a preemptive attack, resulting in the destruction of the speedboat and the deaths of three military council soldiers. The incident demonstrated the ongoing naval operations by military forces in the region and the resistance’s capability to defend civilian assets.
On June 29, revolutionary joint forces ambushed a military column as it withdrew from Kyekar village after causing destruction in Kanyo Island village, resulting in one military council soldier being wounded. The Information Officer of the Dawei District Allied Forces noted that military operations have intensified year by year, forcing even previously stable villages to evacuate. He advised local civilians to keep emergency valuables and essential items packed and ready, while maintaining consistent communication networks for updates. The coordinated attacks were carried out by various revolutionary groups including the Spring Guerrilla Force, Federal Doo Wan Star Force, DNLA Force, Dauna Column 7, Student Revolutionary Force, and Special Guerrilla Force, demonstrating the growing cooperation among resistance groups in the region.
