A senior official from Battalion 3802 in Ayeyarwady District has confirmed that six military council soldiers were killed during an ambush by resistance forces in Minle Township, Bago Region. The incident occurred around 9 AM on April 26, when revolutionary forces from Battalion 3802 Company 2 intercepted military council troops who were looting homes of civilians who had fled from villages along the Bago Yoma mountain range. The confrontation took place as the military council soldiers were crossing a suspension bridge near Salt Creek Village.
During the battle, resistance forces launched two 40mm mortar rounds that directly hit the military column, followed by small arms fire. This coordinated attack resulted in the immediate death of six military council soldiers and left many others wounded. The battalion official warned that local residents should remain extremely vigilant as the military council forces might carry out retaliatory actions against civilians in the area. The military council is known for conducting airstrikes, using civilians as human shields, and committing brutal acts of violence in response to battlefield losses.
Further clashes between revolutionary forces and military council troops continued on April 27, resulting in additional military casualties. Some military council soldiers reportedly surrendered by raising white flags. The battalion official emphasized that civilians should avoid any areas where military council forces are present, as they are known to conduct airstrikes, use civilians as human shields, and carry out inhumane arrests and killings. The ongoing conflict in the region highlights the continued resistance against the military council’s oppression and the importance of civilian safety measures in conflict-affected areas.
