
In a clash near Laymaying village in Nattalin Township, Bago Region, resistance forces successfully intercepted and attacked a military council column, resulting in the death of six junta soldiers, according to a representative from the Thayawady District Battalion 3801, Company 3 Nat Soldiers group. The battle began around 8 AM on March 24, when approximately 70 military council troops entered the area near Laymaying village for clearance operations, prompting resistance forces to launch an interceptive attack.
The resistance forces were able to effectively engage the military column despite being outnumbered, utilizing their superior knowledge of the terrain and tactical coordination. During the initial engagement, three military council soldiers were killed and two others were wounded. Later that evening, an additional three soldiers were killed when they encountered landmines planted by the resistance forces. The successful operation was carried out through the joint efforts of Thayawady District Battalion 3801, Company 3 Nat Soldiers, and Company 4 of the Burma Revolution Army (BRA).
According to local sources, the military council forces entered Laymaying village during the battle, where they threatened civilians and destroyed property. After the engagement, the military column retreated to Pyinpon village. The resistance forces have stated their commitment to continuing their operations to protect local civilians from military council aggression. The success of this operation was attributed to the resistance forces’ strong command structure, disciplined troops, and intimate knowledge of the local terrain, which allowed them to effectively counter the numerically superior military council forces. The resistance groups continue to maintain their presence in the area to ensure the security of local communities against further military council operations.
