Local residents report that six family members, including two children, were killed when the military council conducted an airstrike on Loilo Htee village in the Mawchi area of Hpruso Township, Karenni State. The military council’s aircraft bombed the densely populated Loilo Htee village at 7:35 PM on the full moon day of Waso. The airstrike also destroyed several civilian homes and a Christian church in the area, according to local confirmation.
Prior to this incident, on June 25 at around 11 AM, the military council had conducted another airstrike on Taung Paw village in the Mawchi area, despite there being no active fighting in the region. That attack resulted in the destruction of a mineral mining operation and a general store, killing seven civilians and leaving many others injured. According to a local resistance member, the Mawchi region is a heavily populated area, and residents are living in fear due to repeated attacks by the military council forces.
The military council frequently conducts airstrikes throughout Karenni State, deliberately targeting civilian residences, schools, religious buildings, and residential areas. These attacks regularly result in civilian casualties and injuries, forcing local residents to flee their homes and seek refuge elsewhere. Local sources indicate that the military council deliberately targets areas where there is no active conflict, demonstrating a pattern of intentional attacks on civilian populations. The continuous airstrikes have created a humanitarian crisis in the region, with many families displaced and living in constant fear of further attacks.
