
A spokesperson from the M.V.P Revolution Force confirmed that seven military council troops were killed during clashes with resistance forces at the border of Pakokku and Myaing Townships in Magway Region. On May 1, approximately 200 military council troops from Pakokku entered Myaing Township through Nyaung Gyi Pin area and Pann Taing Taw Min Kan village. When they reached the western part of Lettan village on May 2, resistance fighters from the 8+ Anyar Land Operation Force and M.V.P Revolution Force launched an attack, resulting in a 30-minute battle that killed two military council soldiers.
As the military council troops approached Lettan village, resistance forces launched another attack, killing five more military council soldiers. One resistance fighter was also killed in the battle. The injured military council troops established a position in Lettan village and burned down Thet Gyi Taw village on May 2. During the night, they called for air support and bombed nearby villages with a Y-12 aircraft, dropping 29 bombs. On May 3, they continued their aerial assault using two jet fighters, two gunships, and Y-12 aircraft, conducting twelve bombing raids on the surrounding areas.
Local civilians were able to evacuate in advance of the military council troops’ arrival, resulting in no civilian casualties, though numerous houses were destroyed. On the evening of May 3, the military council troops burned down Pauk Pin Kine village. On May 4, they continued their destruction by burning Pauk Pin Kine, Thet Gyi Taw, and Lettan villages. Additional clashes occurred between resistance forces and military council troops who were hiding in the area. The combined operation was carried out by multiple resistance groups including the 8+ Anyar Land Operation Force, M.V.P Revolution Force, UAV Fighter, Mahura Alin Tan Pyaung Kyar Myaing, Scorpion People’s Defense Force, Phoenix People’s Defense Force, Zamani Guerrilla Force, Htay Aung Guerrilla Force, Sanay Min, and Tama Myay Guerrilla Force – Myaing, along with their allies.
