The leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force, Ko Baik, has reported successful drone attacks on military reinforcements and positions during the battle to capture the MRTV broadcasting station at Bodhi Tower Hill in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. The attacks, which likely resulted in military casualties, began on February 26 at approximately 8:30 AM. Revolutionary forces deployed 18 drones to target military positions including GTC checkpoint, Ma-U checkpoint, Swan Yay Htet gas station, and Taw Pu Pyu Saw Htee village.
The operation aimed to prevent military reinforcements from reaching the area by surrounding and attacking their positions with drones. It was estimated that approximately 40 military personnel were stationed at GTC, Ma-U, and Swan Yay Htet locations. Although the resistance forces lost one drone during the battle, Ko Baik described the operation as successful, with effective cutting-off operations and successful front-line engagements. He stated that the loss of the drone was worth the strategic gains achieved during the operation.
The coordinated attack involved multiple resistance groups including Chindwin Dynamite, Yinmabin District Battalion 35 Branch 3 Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force, Monywa District Battalion 24 Drone Force, SSTF Strategic Command 44 Battalions 14 and 15, KLG Strategic Commands 42, 45, and 47, and the Brave Heart Army. Following the loss of drones in the operation, the resistance forces have appealed to domestic and international supporters for assistance in acquiring replacement drones to continue their operations.
In a separate operation, the People’s Defense Force – North Division in Ye-U Township conducted a drone strike on February 27 at approximately 3:55 PM, targeting military council troops who were constructing bunkers along the Mu River bank in Aung Mingala Ward, Ye-U Town. According to the PDF commander, the construction was being carried out by Pyu Saw Htee members under the supervision of military and police personnel. The attack was conducted using a single drone, though the extent of damage inflicted on the military forces could not be immediately verified.
