
Revolutionary forces conducted simultaneous attacks on twelve military council positions across four townships in Mandalay Region’s Myingyan District, resulting in over fifty casualties among the military council forces and the seizure of 27 weapons. The operation, which began on May 15, targeted military installations, checkpoints, and bases in Myingyan, Ngazun, Thaungtha, and Natogyi townships. The coordinated attacks were carried out as a district-level operation under the command of the 9/A Nyar Myae Operation group.
The targeted locations included the Seemikone Police Station, Kyaukpyut Village Pyu Camp, and Taungshae Gate Station in Myingyan Township, along with positions in Ward 18 and the District Administrative Office. In Natogyi Township, the forces attacked the Wetlu Police Station, gas pipeline installations, and the town police station, as well as military columns near Zi Village. The operation also targeted the Thanaungkone Pyu Village Camp, town entrance gates, and gas pipeline facilities in Thaungtha Township, while in Ngazun Township, the forces struck the town entrance gate and the Myothaw Bank security outpost. During the confrontations, the military council responded with air support using fighter jets, Y-12 aircraft, and Mi-35 helicopters, conducting extensive bombing raids. However, the revolutionary forces managed to withdraw without casualties.
The operation resulted in the capture of significant military equipment, including two MA-11 rifles, three MA-13 rifles, two G3 rifles, three MA-3 rifles, two Paris rifles, one carbine, one handmade short gun, two 9mm pistols, one handmade M22, eight MA-1 rifles, and two MA-2 rifles. Additional seized materials included 43 ammunition boxes, 511 G3 rounds, 5,094 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 267 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 2,978 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition of three types, 148 carbine rounds, two forward mines, 49 M9 rounds, 28 60mm mortars, nine RPG warheads, six RPG propelling charges, 15 hand grenades, 23 landmines, two signal jammers (8-channel and 6-channel), one mine detector, 15 motorcycles, 960,000 kyats in cash, and various military supplies.
The operation was coordinated under the direction of the Myingyan District Military Command’s District Commander, with participation from multiple revolutionary forces including the Myingyan District Commando, Myingyan District Battalions (1,2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10), Myingyan District Drone Force, and People’s Defense Forces from Myingyan, Natogyi, Thaungtha, and Ngazun townships. Additional support came from the Kyaukse District Commando, Meiktila District’s 3rd Battalion, Naypyidaw’s 801st Battalion, and People’s Defense Forces from Tatkon and Meiktila townships. This successful operation demonstrated the capabilities and unity of the revolutionary forces in their struggle against the military council.
