The Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee has officially announced that joint forces comprising the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Karen National Defense Organization (KNDO), and People’s Defense Force (PDF) have successfully captured the Blay Doh military camp, which had been occupied by the military council forces in Kawkareik Township, Karen State. The decisive operation took place around 5 PM on May 23, resulting in a strategic victory for the revolutionary forces. The Blay Doh military camp, located near villages in Kawkareik Township, had been a significant military installation used by the military council forces to maintain control and suppress local civilians in the area.
The offensive was led by Brigade 6 and executed through coordinated efforts among the revolutionary forces, who conducted the operation with systematic planning and strategic implementation. The revolutionary forces successfully seized various weapons, ammunition, and military equipment from the camp. This capture represents a significant development for local civilian security and marks the transformation of another territory from military council control to a liberated area. The successful operation demonstrates the growing capabilities of revolutionary forces in their resistance against the military council’s occupation and oppression of civilian populations in the region.
