
Revolutionary forces launched an attack on the Latkhat Taung Tower Camp in Longlone Township, Tanintharyi Region, on March 13 at 7:00 AM, resulting in the death of 12 military council soldiers and the seizure of weapons and ammunition, according to a responsible official from the Duraka Column. The battle lasted 6 hours, during which the revolutionary forces captured one MA-3 rifle, nine ammunition magazines, three hand grenades, and other military equipment.
The operation was led by the Duraka Column of the Dawei Nationalities Liberation Army (DNLA), in collaboration with the Yebyu People’s Defense Force and Dawei District Battalion 2. During the battle, the revolutionary forces executed strategic attacks and effectively broke through the military council’s defensive positions. The Latkhat Taung Tower Camp was considered a significant military council outpost in the region.
As revolutionary forces intensify their military operations nationwide, they have advised local civilians to remain vigilant and exercise caution in their daily activities. They have also called upon members of the military council forces and police force to defect and join the people’s side as soon as possible. The revolutionary forces have declared their commitment to continue fighting until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship system, prioritizing the interests of the people.
