Revolutionary forces have successfully launched an attack on the military council’s Defense Products Factory 13 (DPF-13) in Sinpaungwe Township, Magway Region, using ten 107mm rockets that resulted in significant damage to the facility. The attack, which took place around midnight on April 25, was carried out as a joint operation by the Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM) and allied forces.
During the attack, all ten rockets hit their intended targets, causing substantial damage to critical facilities, particularly the important primer manufacturing plant and other factory buildings. DPF-13 is a crucial facility that produces detonators and primers essential for the military council’s ammunition production, from small arms ammunition to aircraft bombs. The factory plays a vital role in manufacturing initiating devices used in the military council’s weapons production.
The factory’s primer production is crucial for the military council’s ammunition manufacturing process, as it supplies essential components for everything from basic ammunition to hand grenades and missiles. The destruction of DPF-13 is expected to significantly impact the production capabilities of other defense products factories, including DPF-3, DPF-5, DPF-7, DPF-12, DPF-15, DPF-17, and DPF-21, all of which rely on primers manufactured at this facility.
Following the attack, the military council attempted to conceal the extent of damage to their facility by conducting counter-fire with heavy weapons, trying to create the impression of an ongoing battle. The operation was led by BWM in collaboration with Shadow (Anya), No More Dictatorship-NMD group, and Eagle Brigade, with additional support from local resistance forces including Upper Minhla PDF and People Independence Army (PIO/PIA).
