Revolutionary forces conducted three separate drone attacks against the military council’s troops and checkpoints in Ye-U Township, Sagaing Region. According to a representative from YE-U Freedom Comrades (YFC), the first attack occurred on August 25 at around 8 AM when resistance forces launched three drone strikes against a military column of approximately 40 personnel that was advancing toward Ywa Thale village in Ye-U Township. As a result of this attack, the military troops were forced to retreat back to Ye-U town.
Subsequently, on August 29 at around 2 PM, resistance forces carried out another drone strike, dropping four bombs on military personnel who were setting up heavy weapons near the railway track south of Ye-U town. The following day, on August 30 at approximately 11 AM, revolutionary forces conducted a third attack, launching two drone-dropped bombs on military personnel stationed near the Kyarphyu roundabout checkpoint at the entrance to Ye-U town. While the exact number of casualties from these attacks could not be confirmed, at least four military personnel were reported injured and transported to Ye-U hospital. The resistance official stated that their forces were able to safely withdraw after completing all three operations without suffering any casualties.
The military council regularly conducts operations in villages surrounding Ye-U town and maintains a checkpoint at the Kyarphyu roundabout entrance with approximately twenty personnel stationed there at any given time. These coordinated drone attacks were jointly carried out by the People’s Defense Drone Team (Shwebo District) and the 5/Mahura Buffalo (Ye-U PDF). The successful operations demonstrate the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting precision strikes against military targets while minimizing risks to their own personnel. These attacks represent part of the broader resistance movement’s efforts to challenge the military council’s control in the Sagaing Region, where numerous revolutionary groups continue to operate against the regime’s forces.
