A member of the Shwe Gyo Phyu People’s Defense Force has confirmed that one military council soldier was killed and two others were injured when resistance forces launched a mine attack against military council troops who were burning civilian-owned farmlands near Sone village in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. The incident occurred around 10:04 AM on March 21, when military council troops were deliberately setting fire to civilian farmlands in the forest area east of Sone village.
The coordinated attack was carried out by a joint force comprising the Shwe Gyo Phyu People’s Defense Force, AungSan’s Blood Civilians Defense Force (ABCDF), and Myingyan Northern Guerrilla Force (MNGF). The resistance forces had been monitoring the military council troops who were destroying civilian property and launched a precisely timed mine attack. The attack resulted in the immediate death of one military council soldier and severe injuries to two others, according to confirmation from the revolutionary forces.
The resistance forces have issued a statement declaring that the military council’s deliberate burning of agricultural lands, which are crucial for local civilians’ livelihood, constitutes a war crime and is intended to impact the people’s basic survival needs. They have also announced their commitment to continue operations against military council troops who deliberately destroy civilian property. The systematic destruction of civilian farmlands by military council forces represents a calculated attempt to undermine the economic stability and food security of local communities in the region.
