A spokesperson from the People’s Brotherhood-Salin group has confirmed that resistance forces conducted a mine attack on the military council’s administrative office in Salin town, Magway Region. The attack took place around 8 PM on June 28, when revolutionary forces targeted the military council’s office with heavy explosives. The attack resulted in significant damage to the building structure, and the resistance forces were able to safely withdraw from the area after the operation.
The coordinated attack was carried out through a joint effort of several resistance groups, including the Salin Urban Guerrilla Force, People’s Defense Force (Temporary), Paukhtaung Health Corps, and the Bamar Army. According to the People’s Brotherhood-Salin group representative, the explosive device was remotely detonated after being launched into the office building. While casualties among military council personnel are likely, the exact number of injuries or fatalities could not be immediately confirmed. The resistance forces employed urban guerrilla tactics and withdrew immediately after the operation for security reasons.
The People’s Brotherhood-Salin group has issued statements warning of continued attacks against military council forces and their administrative offices, citing ongoing oppression of local civilians including abuse of power, violent persecution, forced labor (porter service), and illegal extortion of money from local residents. These attacks are part of the broader revolutionary movement aimed at dismantling the military dictatorship and establishing democracy. The resistance forces have emphasized that such operations will continue as long as the military council persists in its violent actions against civilians and maintains its grip on power through force and intimidation.
