A representative from YE-U Freedom Comrades (YFC), a revolutionary force in Ye-U Township, has confirmed that their forces conducted successful drone attacks on military council troops stationed in Ye-U town, Sagaing Region, over two consecutive days, resulting in casualties among the military council forces. The attacks were carried out on June 15 and 16, targeting multiple military checkpoints throughout the town.
The first attack was launched at approximately 6:30 PM on June 15, targeting a military council checkpoint near the Kyar Phyu roundabout at the southern exit of Ye-U town. The revolutionary forces employed drones to drop four bombs during this operation. While casualties were reported among the military council troops, the exact numbers could not be immediately verified according to the attacking forces.
The second attack was executed the following day on June 16 at around 6:40 PM, targeting two additional military council checkpoints – one at Gawi Park and another near the Traditional Medicine Hospital within Ye-U town. This operation also involved four bomb drops via drones. In both attacks, the revolutionary forces successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties or injuries.
According to a YFC official, the targeted military council checkpoints typically maintain a presence of between 5 to 15 soldiers at each location. Following the attacks, military council troops responded with indiscriminate small arms fire in the area. The coordinated operations were carried out through a joint effort of several resistance groups, including the Shwebo District People’s Defense Drone Mobile Units such as YE-U Freedom Comrades (YFC), the Wolves Group, and the 5/Mahura Buffalo (People’s Defense Force Ye-U). Additionally, reconnaissance support was provided by surveillance drones from the Farmer Hero group, which is the People’s Security Force from Khin-U Township.
