A spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force has confirmed that an interception attack against the military troops entering Palehtwe village in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in twenty military personnel being wounded and the seizure of weapons. The incident occurred when a military column of approximately 150 troops, which had departed from Hathagyi Pyu village in Shwebo Township on August 13, entered Wetlet Township and moved towards Palehtwe village. Revolutionary forces, having received advance intelligence about the military movement, were prepared and successfully conducted an interception operation.
During the engagement, twenty military personnel sustained injuries, and the revolutionary forces captured one MA-1 rifle along with several ammunition magazines. The battle began in the morning and continued until evening, after which the military column retreated during the night hours. The revolutionary forces conducted subsequent area clearance operations, during which they recovered the weapons and ammunition left behind by the retreating military forces.
The revolutionary forces involved in this successful operation included the No. 2 Shwebo District Drone Force, No. 2 Shwebo District Battalions (1,2,3,4,5,17,23), the M.Sai.Naw Drone Team, the People’s Defense Force, and the Oak Seik Township People’s Defense Force. Military analysts attribute the success of this operation to the effective coordination between these various revolutionary groups. The combined operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of the resistance forces in conducting coordinated military actions against the military council’s troops.
