
A spokesperson from the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), Mi Tala Nyan, confirmed that one military council soldier was killed during clashes with revolutionary forces in Ye Township, Mon State. The confrontation occurred when revolutionary forces launched two separate attacks against a military column consisting of approximately 150 troops from Infantry Battalions 588, 106, and Artillery Battalion 317 near Aung Thar Pyay village in northern Ye Township on August 20. The attacks took place around 10 AM and 5 PM.
During these engagements, one military council soldier was confirmed dead, and between four to five others were reported wounded. The revolutionary forces also suffered a casualty, with one soldier from KNLA Battalion 27 Division 1 falling in battle. The coordinated operation involved multiple revolutionary groups, including the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF), Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF), Ramanya Mon Army (RMA), and KNLA Battalion 27 Division 1.
The area where the fighting occurred is frequently patrolled by military council forces and has been a region where local civilians have faced ongoing violence and oppression from the military council. The revolutionary forces continue their operations to protect local civilians’ safety and property from the military council’s brutal actions. The revolutionary forces are currently conducting further investigations into the extent of casualties suffered by the military council troops during these engagements.
