The People’s Defense Force in Chaung-U has confirmed that their drone strike on the military outpost in Myapyarlay, Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region, resulted in the death of two military council soldiers, including one officer. The attack occurred around 5:30 PM on March 6, when revolutionary forces successfully launched two precision drone strikes on the military outpost located along the Monywa-Mandalay highway. The strike directly hit the outpost while soldiers were having their evening meal.
During the attack, an artillery commander and another soldier were killed instantly, while five other military personnel sustained severe injuries. The wounded soldiers were evacuated to Monywa city in two armored vehicles around 11:23 PM the same night. According to reports from revolutionary forces, the bodies of the two deceased soldiers were given a military funeral ceremony inside the Northwest Military Command headquarters the following day, March 7, at approximately 10 AM. The precision strike demonstrated the increasing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting targeted operations against military installations.
In a separate incident in Tanintharyi Region, revolutionary forces conducted another effective strike against the military council. The Red Wing People’s Defense Force led a drone attack on Infantry Battalion 558 in Tanintharyi Township on March 1. The operation involved coordinated efforts between revolutionary fighters from PDF Zones 4 and 5 of Tanintharyi Township, who successfully executed the drone bombing mission on the battalion headquarters. While there were likely casualties among military council troops, the exact numbers could not be immediately confirmed. All members of the attacking force managed to withdraw safely from the operation. These attacks represent ongoing efforts by resistance forces to challenge the military council’s control across different regions of Myanmar.
